Det. Stan “Wojo” Wojciehowicz (Max Gail)
Born Maxwell Trowbridge “Max” Gail Jr. on April 5, 1943, is an American actor who has starred in numerous stage, television, and film roles but is most notably for his portrayal as Detective Stan “Wojo” Wojciehowicz on the television sitcom Barney Miller (1975-1982).
Gail’s first wife, Willie Bier, died of cancer in 1986; they have a daughter, India. Max stayed home to raise his daughter. His second wife, Nan Harris since 1989, who they have two children, Maxwell (1990) and Grace (1993). They also have raised Nan’s nephew, Delondon (b. 1979). Gail has a twin sister, actress Mary Gail. He is 74 years old.
Gail runs Full Circle, a production company which has featured documentaries on such subjects as Agent Orange, Native Americans, and nuclear issues. Gail was recast as Mike Corbin on General Hospital. He debuted on February 5, 2018.
