Even though a lot of these have the FDA approval, they contain some ingredients that can only gross one out. As consumers, we normally listen to our taste buds, and hardly think about going deeper into how the food is actually processed. So, here is some information for you. Proceed at your own risk. 1. Hence, it is made to go through a whitening process by using a metallic substance called titanium dioxide. What would you rather prefer now? 6. Chewing Gum Pixabay There really is no redemption for this one. Chewing gums are chewy only because of lanolin, a sheep skin gland secretion! If they decide not to go for it, you would instead have a gum out of synthetic rubber. Yeah, now everyone will stop a moment before popping this mouth fresher in. 7. But if you want to opt out - since it definitely is yuck - you can watch out for words like carmine or carminic acid in the food labeling. In a cup of steaming, aromatic coffee, you decide to add a bit of creamer to make it all light. But what you don't know is that you're also putting in oil with it. As strange as it sounds, non-dairy creamers are made with a mix of oils that give it the smoothness and thickness. Powdered creamers, even worse! They contain something highly flammable that's actually used in to prevent the powder to get all caked. The substance is called sodium aluminosilicate.
