A lot of time and sweat goes into a royal wedding planning. A team of hundreds works tirelessly to make the grand day seem as flawless as possible. But, to err is human. So, despite all the planning, there are certain things that remain out of human control and can mess up this highly organized event. Here are some examples. 1. A Sleep-Deprived Prince William. Although he didn't doze off mid-way into the ceremony, he certainly was exhausted. The reason - the edginess that usually accompanies weddings and a crowd of fans cheering for him outside, throughout the night. Getty Images 2.The Broken Tiara Imagine the family heirloom that is supposed to mean so much on your wedding day, breaks right before it! This happened with Queen Elizabeth's Fringe Tiara, made for Queen Mary in 1919. The hairdresser accidentally broke it on the morning of the wedding. It was immediately taken to House of Garrard workshops where it was repaired. Fortunately, the Queen was able to wear it in her wedding. Imagine the fright she must have been in! Getty Images 3. The Case of Messed Up Vows Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding had quite a few goof ups. Although Princess Diana made the major one, Prince Charles proclaimed a few words wrong in his vows. He offered "thy goods" to his bride, instead of "worldly goods!" Getty Images 4. Messing up Husband's Name As mentioned earlier, Princess Diana made a big blunder when she mispronounced Prince Charles's name. She said, "Philip Charles Arthur George," instead of "Charles Phillip." I can imagine the awkward silence that might have followed after. 5. Leaving the Bouquet Behind It happens! I mean it's your wedding. Plus, you're a Royal. The pressure is real. So, it is quite imaginable and forgivable that Princess Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg of Denmark left her bouquet behind and had to wait a full ten minutes for it, before going down the aisle. King Harthacnut, England's monarch from 1040-42, completely sabotaged his friend's wedding by dying due to excessive consumption that led to a stroke. Getty Images 7. Tiaras and Headaches Those tiaras look so beautiful! But wait until you have to wear one for the entire course of the wedding. Apparently, Princess Diana's Spencer Family Tiara that she wore for her wedding gave her a splitting headache. On top of nerves that won't rest and performance pressure, having a headache during the Royal wedding is really not a pretty picture. Getty Images 8. A Wedding Dress That's Too Small It is nothing but a nightmare when the wedding dress doesn't fit on the day of the wedding! Although it's a rare scenario, it happened with one of the Royals. Marie Antoinette's wedding dress was certainly awe-inspiring. But, a few inches too short for her. The Duchess' corps of the robe was small enough to leave the lace and shift visible. Getty Images 9. A Wrinkle in The Wedding Gown Talking about Royal wedding gowns, how can we forget Princess Diana's memorable one with a 25 foot train! However, the makers of the dress probably did not take into account the wrinkle factor. It was all good, until she got down at St's Paul's Cathedral. The carriage ride had given it some wrinkles that were hard to miss, and were certainly being eye-sores. Getty Images 10. Debts, Incest, Alcohol. This wedding tale is straight out of horror books. King George IV married his cousin, Caroline. Okay, so what's the big deal? Back then, cousins got hitched pretty frequently. But, there's more! The two cousins had never ever met before their wedding. Plus, George wasn't madly in love with her. He married her to get rid of some debts. Poor Caroline. To top it all, he arrived at the wedding totally wasted! He was so drunk that he started crying when there were no objections made to the wedding. The most thrilling part for a couple- their first night - was actually a horror for Caroline, as George passed out in front of the fireplace. This surely tops the charts of the most bizarre weddings ever! Getty Images 11. When Princess Diana's Five-Year Old Bridesmaid Tripped And Wept. It's not just the Royal brides who have to perform well. It's the bridesmaids too. They are part of an incredibly important event in history and they certainly want to seem their best. So, it comes as no shock that the five year old bridesmaid (who happened to be Winston Churchill's granddaughter) tripped at Princess Diana's wedding and burst into tears. Although it was a light and sweet moment, it must have been truly embarrassing for the little girl. Getty Images 12. Throwing Up All Over the Wedding Gown and Some On Mother-In-Law. This is what happens when a teenager, 17 years old, marries a man she has never met, in a country she doesn't know, and in a language she doesn't understand.
