Technology has advanced so far that now we're looking to holograms of our favorite musicians and artists to put on a show for us. How lucky are we to live in the digital age?! Holograms of Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly are now gearing up for “The Rock ‘N’ Roll Dream Tour." The tour is slated to take place in October in both Europe and North America... at the same time. How can that possibly be? Well, because they're holograms, of course! Orbison died in 1988 and Holly died in 1959, so the holographic versions of them will be playing these shows. The official tour website states that the concert will feature “remastered audio from both legends alongside a live band and back up singers.” The run time for these shows is anywhere from 75 to 90 minutes long. Maria Elena Holly is 86 years old now. She does admit that seeing him in hologram form will be a tear-jerking moment. “I feel emotional every time I see a photo of Buddy, every time I hear his songs, I think about him every day," she says. While it won’t be easy seeing Buddy because I miss him so, I do want to see him perform again, and I truly want to see his fans enjoying him in concert again,” she continues. She confirms she was very interested in what this technology could accomplish for performers who had passed on. "While we’ve been working on the idea of a Buddy Hologram show, it was only in the last year or so that we felt the technology and resources had reached a point that a successful tour could be mounted," Maria says.
