He recalled standing in front of his class, declaring that he would one day marry Laura. One time, he tried to attract Laura's attention by breaking open a piñata. “I remember trying to impress her during a Cinco De Mayo celebration at the preschool where we were trying to break open a piñata. The two began dating each other exclusively within two weeks. Although they attended different high schools and ventured off to colleges in different states, they stayed together. He brought her back to the preschool where they first met and popped the big question.
