Our culture is very invested in the lives of celebrities. However, you can't possibly know everything about everyone, even if they are in the public eye! All famous people are human and many make mistakes or have strange personal lives. Unfortunately for them, most of this information gets revealed at one time or another. On the flipside, many of these people do incredible things that somehow don't get noticed! Here are some interesting and unusual facts about some historical figures: 1. Walt Disney Walt Disney / Max Pixel He was a billionaire and he loved to reward his employees. For example, he gave his housekeeper Disney stock every Christmas and on her birthday. When she retired, she was a multi-millionaire. How cool is that? 2. Ronald Reagan Ronald Reagan / Wikimedia Commons Remember the joke in Back to the Future about Reagan becoming President? Reagan reportedly loved it and asked the movie theater staff to rewind and replay that scene while he was watching it! 3. Malcolm X Malcolm X / Wikipedia Later in life, Malcolm X gave some incredible speeches. However, he could hardly read for most of his life. While he was in prison, he copied the entire dictionary by hand to learn. 4. Albert Einstein Albert Einstein / Public Domain Pictures When Einstein became more famous, he found he didn't like people coming up to him. He would say that he wasn't Albert Einstein if a stranger asked him in public! 5. Charlie Chaplin Charlie Chaplin / Flickr Once, as a joke, he entered a Charlie Chaplin lookalike contest. Roosevelt / Wikimedia Commons While visiting the White House in 1941, former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt accidentally walked in on Churchill naked. Apparently, Churchill retorted, "The Prime Minister of Great Britain has nothing to hide from the President of the United States." 7. Jeannette Rankin Jeannette Rankin / Wikimedia Commons If you're not sure who she is, she was the first woman to ever serve in Congress. It was in 1916, four full years before women could vote in the United States. Impressive! 8. Elvis Presley Elvis Presley / Pixabay Many know that Elvis, unfortunately, passed away in the bathroom. He apparently had a massive colon when he passed and doctors now think his heart may have gone out due to constipation. It was probably due to his very unhealthy diet. 9. Abraham Lincoln Abraham Lincoln / Wikipedia Lincoln delivered a speech against slavery in 1856. Reportedly, everyone was so captivated by his words that no one took notes! Nikola Tesla Nikola Tesla / Wikimedia Commons Tesla thought that chastity enhanced his success, so he never had any relationships. Later in the life, he apparently said he fell in love with a pigeon in New York City. Weird... 11. Amelia Earhart Amelia Earhart and George Putnam / Wikimedia Commons Earhart was always independent and wanted a prenup when she got engaged to George Putnam. Part of it read, "I shall not hold you to a medieval code of faithfulness to me, nor shall I consider myself bound to you similarly." 12. King Henry VIII of England King Henry VIII of England / Flickr He hired four men who were called "Grooms of the Stool." Basically, they wiped his butt after he went to the bathroom. That's pretty gross! 13. Henry Ford Henry Ford and Thomas Edison / Wikimedia Commons Ford loved Thomas Edison and thought of him as a hero. They became friends and when Edison was dying, Ford's son collected his final breath in a tube. The tube is on display at the Henry Ford Museum... have you seen it?
