This year it seems that food recalls aren't just for humans. The FDA has now recalled about a dozen brands of dog food because they could contain toxic levels of vitamin D. Certain dry dog foods were found with excessive amounts of vitamin D, which can be fatal for dogs. While dogs, like humans, do need vitamin D in their diets to be healthy, high amounts can cause kidney failure or even death. The FDA found that at least 12 brands of dry dog food contained 70 times the safe amount of vitamin D. What Are The Symptoms Of Vitamin D Toxicity To Watch For?
