The topic of gender identity came up, as some people feel saying just "women" is exclusionary to trans women. Individuals such as J. K. Rowling and Macy Gray denounced this view and assert that the label of "woman" belongs only to people who were born with female anatomy. Bette Midler also brought up labels online, specifically objecting to the term such as "birthing people." They face so much violence and scrutiny as is." She went on to say, "Leave them alone and focus on the real war on women. It’s happening in the courts and legislatures around this country."
