- Big Boy restaurants are changing their mascot from Big Boy to Dolly.
- It’s unclear whether this will be a temporary or permanent change.
- The change comes with the news of a new menu item.
Big Boy restaurants recently rolled out a new chicken sandwich, and with that new addition, they unveiled a long-forgotten character. One of their older characters, Dolly, will now be replacing their current iconic mascot that we’ve all come to know and love.
“Dolly has been dreaming up this #chickensandwich for quite some time so …. Who is ready for tomorrow?! #bigcluckindeal” the official restaurant Twitter account says in a tweet.

Dolly is a character that could be remembered from the Big Boy comic book series from the 1950s. She will now be serving as the official mascot to promote the restaurant’s newest sandwich. We’re not sure how long she’s staying, but she is for now. Bob’s Big Boy director of training Frank Alessandrini speaks to Fox News about this change.

“We are rolling out a brand-new chicken sandwich. We’re calling it the best cluckin’ chicken sandwich around, and Dolly, who has been with Big Boys since the 1950s as far as we can go back with our comic books. We decided that she’s going to be the star of this sandwich as Big Boy was the star of his double-decker sandwich.”

The director also notes that the company wanted “to show that we’re still moving forward. We recognize the times that we’re in, hopefully, turning the corner in this pandemic and come out of it, but we want to set ourselves up for the future as well.”
