Meg Ryan and Jack Quaid just shared a Hollywood first. The mother-son duo stepped onto the red carpet together for the first time, smiling for photographers during the opening night celebration for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.

Ryan wore a midi dress with ruffled tulle for the event, while her 34-year-old son kept things classic in a gray suit. The pair posed side by side as Hollywood stars gathered to celebrate the museum founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson.

The occasion also marked a special milestone for the family. Although Jack has spent years building his own career in film and television, he and Ryan had never previously walked a red carpet together. The rare outing immediately drew attention because Ryan has generally kept her family life out of the spotlight.

Jack Quaid Has Built His Own Hollywood Career

Jack, whom Ryan shares with ex-husband Dennis Quaid, made his film debut in The Hunger Games in 2012 and later appeared in Oppenheimer, Scream, Companion, and Novocaine. He also became known for The Boys and My Adventures with Superman. Discussion around Meg Ryan’s son Jack Quaid has often included his famous parents, with Ryan defending his talent while Jack has acknowledged the advantages of growing up in a Hollywood family.

That balance has become an interesting part of Jack’s public story. He has never denied that his family name opened doors, but he has also spent more than a decade steadily building credits that stand apart from both his mother and father. For longtime fans of Ryan, the red carpet moment carried an extra bit of nostalgia. She remains closely associated with beloved movies like When Harry Met Sally… and Sleepless in Seattle, while Jack now represents the next generation of the family in Hollywood. Seeing Meg Ryan’s son, Jack Quaid, standing beside her made the evening feel less like a publicity appearance and more like a rare family milestone.
