She posted a photo of herself wearing an Australia Zoo shirt and looked back on the beginning of her journey. She wrote that the adventure started 34 years ago with marriage, a move to Australia, two beautiful children, and a life devoted to wildlife conservation. Her words carried gratitude more than sadness, showing how deeply she still treasures that chapter.

Her daughter Bindi responded with love, reminding fans that the Irwin family remains closely connected through memory and purpose. Steve, known around the world as the Crocodile Hunter, died in 2006 while filming in the Great Barrier Reef. Still, his work continues through Terri, Bindi, Robert, Australia Zoo, and the conservation efforts that remain central to the family’s public life.

Their Love Story Still Guides Her Life Today

Terri first met Steve in 1991 while visiting wildlife rehabilitation facilities in Australia, and their shared love of animals quickly brought them together. One of her favorite memories was discovering that the “girlfriend” Steve jokingly mentioned was actually his dog, Sue. The couple married in 1992, and Terri later described it as the start of her happily ever after. She has often said she does not plan to date again because she already found that kind of lasting love with Steve.

The Terri Irwin and Steve Irwin story was about more than romance. Together, they built a legacy rooted in wildlife conservation and shared purpose. Decades later, Terri continues that mission, reminding fans that grief and gratitude can exist side by side. For her, Steve remains both the love of her life and the inspiration behind the work she carries forward.
