And this one does not disappoint. Billed as the swan song of the group The Band, The Last Waltz is a concert doc with a star-studded lineup. It’s hailed as one of the greatest rock films of all time. Click "Next" To Continue The Rolling Stones: Gimme Shelter (1970) This Rolling Stones doc chronicles the last days of their 1969 tour and the disastrous Altamont Free Concert, when the Hells Angels—hired as security—bludgeoned a number of young Stones fans. This Maysles Brothers film is a prime example of the Direct Cinema movement, which chronicles events as they occur naturally rather than portraying them through interviews and reenactments.
