Noah Wyle And Julianna Margulies Share Sweet ‘ER’ Reunion Decades After Hit Medical Drama

More than three decades after they first walked the halls of County General, Noah Wyle and Julianna Margulies shared another nostalgic moment together. The former ER costars reunited at the Motion Picture & Television Fund’s 20th Annual Evening Before in West Hollywood on Sept. 13.

According to People, the latest ER reunion came just ahead of the 2026 Emmy Awards, where Wyle entered the night as an Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series nominee for The Pitt. For longtime viewers, seeing Dr. John Carter and Carol Hathaway together again offered a reminder of the friendships that continued long after the medical drama ended.

Wyle and Margulies posed together at the Pacific Design Center event, which raises money and awareness for entertainment industry members in need. Their appearance came 32 years after both actors began the roles that helped make them household names when ER premiered in 1994.

This was hardly their first post-ER get-together. The pair presented together at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2013 and joined George Clooney and Anthony Edwards for another memorable gathering in 2025. That reunion took place during the opening night of Clooney’s Broadway production of Good Night, and Good Luck, bringing Dr. Carter, Carol Hathaway, Doug Ross, and Mark Greene back together in the same room.

Margulies has previously described the original cast’s chemistry as “lightning in a bottle.” She recalled how Clooney made his way directly toward his former costars at the Broadway afterparty so the four of them could embrace before he greeted others. To her, moments like that prove that the relationships formed during the show never truly disappeared.

Wyle has expressed a similar affection for his former castmates, saying that being together again felt special even after many years apart. That connection carries extra nostalgic weight now as his medical-drama career enters another celebrated chapter with The Pitt. Margulies left ER as a regular in 2000, while Wyle followed in 2005, yet their friendship has clearly outlasted their time at County General. For fans who spent years following Carter, Carol, and the rest of the hospital staff, each new ER reunion feels like a small return to one of television’s defining dramas.
