6. Bill Murray
Bill Murray hopped on the SNL bandwagon for Season 2. He is currently 67 years old. Bill has done not only had an impressive resume of on-screen work in the last several decades, but also voice acting. He recently reprised his character in Groundhog Day for a very creative Jeep commercial.
His last film was a Zombie flick directed by the famed Jim Jarmusch cleverly titled, The Dead Don’t Die. The trailer is included below.
7. Harry Shearer
Harry Shearer actually got his start on SNL in the 5th season. He is currently 74 years old. He currently holds the voices of some of the most iconic characters in TV history, including Lenny on Family Guy during The Simpsons integration episode and multiple characters (Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner, etc) on The Simpsons.
I personally loved him in This is Spinal Tap as the hysterical bassist! We have included a fantastic clip from that comedy below.
8. Gilbert Gottfried
Gilbert Gottfried got his start on SNL during the 6th season. He is currently 63 years old and continues to do both on-screen and voice acting. He has one film and one TV series that are in post-production and pre-production at this time.
The film is called A Funny That Happened on the Way to the Castle and the TV Series is called Karate Tortoise. Below is one of my favorite memories of Gilbert on SNL.
9. Eddie Murphy
Eddie Murphy joined the SNL cast during the 6th season. He is currently 57 years old. Eddie has done exceptionally well since being on SNL, and has one film announced, one film in pre-production, and is currently filming another.
He has appeared in multiple films over the last several years, like Coming to America, Beverly Hills Cop, and The Nutty Professor. He recently hosted SNL again, and it was an exceptional episode. Reminded me of the Good Ole Days.
10. Joe Piscopo
Joe Piscopo starred on SNL in the 6th season. He is currently 67 years old. Joe is currently in the process of filming a short called High Roads Low Roads. Joe also appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit this year.
He typically appears in a few films over the years, followed by a small gap. Before Law & Order in 2018, he hadn’t acted since 2013. Let’s check out Joe in the early days of SNL below.
