Charlie Sheen is heading back to television, and this time he is bringing his famous father along for the ride. Charlie and Martin Sheen will star together in a new AMC comedy called Happy Jack, marking a rare chance to see the real-life father and son play family on screen.

According to People, the Charlie Sheen and Martin Sheen project will premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2027. The network has ordered six episodes for the first season, with production expected to begin in Los Angeles in early 2027.

Charlie, 61, will play Jack Chambers, a trouble-prone father of two daughters who has spent much of his life looking out for himself. Martin will play Jack’s father, adding another generation to the show’s family dynamic.

The story follows Jack as his daughter Sam returns home with a boyfriend the same age as her father, forcing him to rethink his priorities. Charlie called the role a meaningful return to television and also serves as an executive producer alongside co-showrunners Jim Patterson and Matt Ross.

Happy Jack will be Charlie’s first leading sitcom role since Anger Management and follows his eight-season run on Two and a Half Men. Martin also brings decades of TV experience, most recently appearing on Grace and Frankie. The series will film before a live audience at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, giving it a classic sitcom feel.

AMC executives have described the show as something different for the network while also highlighting Charlie’s long history in film and television. The Charlie Sheen/Martin Sheen pairing adds another layer of nostalgia, especially for viewers who have followed both actors across very different eras of Hollywood. With its mix of family comedy, generational tension, and two familiar faces at its center, Happy Jack gives both Sheens a fresh television chapter. For Charlie in particular, the series marks a notable return to the kind of format that once made him one of sitcom television’s biggest stars.
