Grammy Award-winning musician Cyndi Lauper has been delighting her fans across North America and Europe with her “Girls Just Want to Have Fun Farewell Tour.” Though regarded as her final major tour, the journey kicked off on October 18 in Montreal, Canada, and was expected to end with the last performance on April 25.
However, in an exciting turn of events, Lauper recently announced that she is not quite ready to say goodbye. Probably due to the overwhelming demands of her fans or her passion for performing, the musician has extended her tour, adding new dates to give her fans more opportunity to witness her electrifying stage presence.
Cyndi Lauper says new tour dates to come with a different perspective

In an interview with People, Lauper revealed that the extended tour will now include new shows scheduled to run from July 15 to August 20. She explained that the new dates will come with a different perspective, as she looks forward to exploring new locations, including outdoor amphitheater venues, with one specially fixed to be held at the Hollywood Bowl, a place she and some members of her family hold a personal sentiment for. Revealing the inspiration behind her choice to do large-scale arenas, she noted that she had not undertaken a tour of this magnitude since her 1986 Fun Tour.
To spice up the performances, Lauper stated that she will work closely with other iconic musicians like Jake Wesley Rogers and DJ Tracy Young to ensure that her fans enjoy the same vibrant and inclusive experience that has always been the highlight of her performances.
Cyndi Lauper shares future career goals
The musician also reflected on her future career plans. She revealed that once her tour is over, she plans to focus on the musical adaptation of the 1988 film Working Girl, which she has worked on for a long time.
She noted that the project will involve a collaboration with Rob Hyman, with whom she had previously worked on the song “Time After Time” in the ’80s. Theresa Rebeck will write the book, while Cheryl James of Salt-N-Pepa will craft the rap part of the music to bring out authenticity.
