Jamie Lee Curtis Hilariously Revives Her Iconic Aerobics Scene From 1985’s ‘Perfect’

Jamie Lee Curtis revisited her iconic aerobics routine from the 1985 film Perfect, where she played charismatic fitness instructor Jessie. Her character gets romantically involved with a Los Angeles reporter named Adam, played by John Travolta. Their on-screen chemistry in the aerobics scenes made for unforgettable highlights of the era.

Curtis delighted the audience by recreating the routine on a recent episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. This time, the exaggerated movements were hilariously paired with over-the-top gags, including a pizza delivery, a surgical scene, and even a champagne tower. Fallon took Travolta’s role, making the reenactment even more entertaining.

Jamie Lee Curtis recreated more of her roles aside from John Travolta’s movie

Curtis’s Perfect parody is just one of many times she’s paid tribute to her iconic roles. Among her most revisited characters is Laurie Strode from the Halloween franchise, a role she repeated in six additional films across various continuities.

Curtis also honored her mother, Janet Leigh’s performance in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho by starring in Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens in 2015. The 66-year-old has also referenced Tess Coleman from Freaky Friday and Deirdre Beaubeirdre from Everything Everywhere All At Once on talk shows and her TikTok account.

Her Hollywood career

Jamie Lee Curtis began her acting career in the seventies with her breakthrough role being Laurie Strode in John Carpenter’s Halloween. It established her as Hollywood’s scream queen, but over the years, she has showcased range. Jamie explored other genres with A Fish Called Wanda, True Lies, and Knives Out.

Curtis’s talents go beyond acting as she is also a children’s book author and a passionate advocate for social causes. In the coming months, fans will see Curtis’ return as Tess Coleman in Freakier Friday, which is the highly anticipated 2025 sequel to her 2003 hit movie Freaky Friday.
