- Nike is releasing a new shoe designed specifically for doctors and nurses.
- The shoe is called the Air Zoom Pulse and comes in two designs.
- Nurses say the shoes are too expensive.
Nike has designed a shoe that was specifically designed for doctors and nurses. The company aims to help medical professionals who are constantly on their feet and work long shifts. The shoes are called the Air Zoom Pulse and are available to buy on December 13, 2019. However, many nurses are already complaining about the price.
The shoes will be on sale for $120. According to Nike’s website, “The Nike Zoom Pulse is designed for those who work on their feet all day. Featuring a Zoom AIR unit in the heel and springy, full-length foam in the midsole, they help keep you comfortable no matter how long your shift lasts.”

Some lucky employees at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon have already gotten a chance to wear the shoes. They were the official shoe testers and gave Nike all of their feedback.

Nike also advertises that the shoes are easy to clean and come in several colors. Even though the price is rather high for shoes, 100% of the profits will be donated to OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
However, on social media, many nurses were talking about how the shoes were unaffordable for the people Nike made them for. Some were asking if nurses can get a discount on the shoes. Others simply asked, “Why such a great product then put it at a price point out of reach for the majority of the consumers you designed it for in the first place??”
Another nurse tweeted, “I found the only thing that can save me from my feet falling off in this job. Now I just need to find the money to buy them with my nursing salary.”
