The rocker says his current Best of All Worlds run will likely mark the end of shows built mainly around his years with Van Halen.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, for fans hoping to catch one of those Sammy Hagar concerts, Las Vegas may offer one of the final opportunities. Hagar’s current five-show residency continues the celebration he began in 2024 alongside longtime musical partner Michael Anthony and guitarist Joe Satriani, with much of the set devoted to songs from his decade as Van Halen’s lead singer.
Sammy Hagar Is Ready to Move Beyond Any Van Halen-Focused Concert
“I’m kind of done with being the Van Halen guy,” Hagar told SiriusXM host Eddie Trunk. He made clear that Van Halen songs will not disappear from his performances entirely, but he no longer wants them to dominate the show. The Best of All Worlds tour originally started as a one-time celebration in 2024 before its success led to the Las Vegas residency.
A residency also gave Hagar more freedom than a traditional tour. Instead of feeling pressure to perform only the biggest hits for audiences seeing him once, he could dig deeper into a career that stretches back more than five decades. Now, he wants future shows to reflect that wider history rather than concentrating so heavily on one era.
Hagar Wants to Revisit the Music That Came Before Van Halen
Hagar still wants to revisit music from Montrose, his 1977 solo album, the Red Rocker years, and his Geffen-era work. He also hopes to create a science-fiction-themed concert built around songs like “Space Station #5,” “Silver Lights,” “Space Age Sacrifice,” and “Love Walks In,” connecting different eras of his career.
Fans should not expect a major new tour right away. Hagar plans to step away from the road after this year’s birthday bash and has no tour scheduled for next year. With his 80th birthday approaching in 2027, he has become more selective about his time onstage. That makes the current run of Sammy Hagar concerts feel more significant as he looks beyond Van Halen to celebrate his full career.
