Doctors had once told him he might only have two years to live, but today, he’s beating those odds. In a video shared from his hospital bed, Lundgren revealed that he had just gone through a final procedure to remove the last tumor in his body. It was called lung ablation — a treatment that uses heat or cold to destroy tumors without surgery.

The actor’s health battle began quietly in 2015. Doctors discovered a tumor in his kidney, which they were able to remove. Things seemed fine until five years later, when more tumors started to appear. That’s when things took a confusing turn. Lundgren later learned that his doctors had been treating the wrong kind of cancer.

A second opinion from a specialist at UCLA changed everything. After rechecking his biopsies, the new doctor discovered a different cancer mutation that needed a whole new treatment plan. With the right diagnosis, Lundgren began a fresh approach to care, and things finally started to improve.
