Lyssa Chapman, daughter of Dog the Bounty Hunter Duane Chapman, tied the knot with her girlfriend Leiana Evensen. The ceremony took place on a Tuesday morning in Hawaii, with the newlyweds blending the traditional white attire with outfits befitting the seaside venue.
Chapman did not appear to be present at last week’s celebration, which Lyssa called a secret. Only “7 of our closest family members” were in attendance, she shared in an Instagram post. The wedding was symbolic for the couple, with each element representing their marriage.

On Tuesday, Lyssa shared a post announcing her marriage to Leiana Evensen, which occurred the previous Tuesday. They along with a handful of close family members boarded a boat at 7 am that morning to attend the ceremony to dedicate “our love and lives to one another.”

“With our feet in the water, we connected ourselves to the power and vastness of the ocean. We were hugged by the majestic Ko’olau mountain range, that will continue hugging us as we live and spend the rest of our lives together at Makaalamihi,” Lyssa further shared. “I am now a forever part of the Evensen ohana and I couldn’t be more proud,” she continued. “Thank you for loving me and my girls and accepting us into your family with open arms and hearts.”

In the accompanying photos, a long white dress is present on just one of the brides, while the usual white color scheme is seen more on their bathing suits, worn alongside shorts. They are also decked out in heavy flower crowns in the photos as they celebrate their marriage amid handfuls of flower petals flying around them. Lyssa called it “literally a dream day” that they “planned and kept this day secret” with help from trusted accomplices. This will be the second family wedding in recent months, as Chapman himself wed Francie Frane two years after his wife Beth died.
The wedding between Lyssa and Leiana is in keeping their mutual love for “epic adventures,” which helped draw the two together in the first place – along with a shared birthday. Lyssa calls Leiana, nicknamed Lei, “much more relaxed” compared to her previous marriage, which was to Brahman Galanti; the two share children Abbie Mae and Madalynn Grace, who Lyssa says have been welcomed into the Evensen family with open arms. She and Galanti separated after two years, with Lyssa citing abuse. In 2020, Lyssa herself had been charged with harassment and resisting arrest and was not permitted to leave O’ahu without court permission. In her recent wedding post, Lyssa admitted, “I never thought I was worthy or capable of this kind of love. The vibration I feel in my body hasn’t stopped since I met her and if you’re reading this from a dark place know that your happy beginning is out there somewhere too.”
