On April 9, Porizkova took to Instagram to celebrate her 59th birthday with a revealing post. “A birthday girl ( woman) in her birthday suit,” she captioned the post, which features a photo of Porizkova sitting on her bed without any clothes on; sheets are draped across her hips and her arms are pushed forward to partially hide her chest.

“One last year of being in my fifties. It’s been the worst, most difficult, and also illuminating decade of my life,” she went on. But, she added, “I’m proud to have reached level 59! And I will keep being proud with every level I stack up in this game of life.”
She also said that at 59, despite the bumpy road the year’s been, “I have never felt better in my
well-worn skin.”
Porizkova has been fighting off her own doubts and the negativity of others
Porizkova has been targeted by online trolls in the past, and in anticipation of that on her 59th birthday post, the supermodel addressed the topic of ageism and body shaming. “For those of you who will invariably lecture me on age and nudity, rest assured,” she said, “it’s taken me 59 years to feel this confident and free of shame, and I wish the same for you.”
When she neared her 58th birthday, Porizkova shared a message of similar positivity; that post showed a picture of herself wearing black lingerie under a sweater she knitted herself. In the captions, she cheered, “So this is what almost 58 looks like for me today.” That post was met with some replies saying that she does not look like a typical woman at 58 and that her appearance was due to wealth and subsequent access to fillers, surgery, and other similar tools.
“I’m not trying to represent all women of my age,” she countered in a follow-up post. “How could I? How could anyone? Don’t we all look different and isn’t that where our beauty lies? In our uniqueness?”
