This became her number one rule when planning Mother's Day after one year saw her "pretty sad" from spending the holiday "coordinating grandparent visits." As a result, "I didn’t get to do anything for myself." In place of festivities, she spent the occasion with "kids naps" and "hustle." Discussing the backlash she got with CNN, Wehner noted, "I feel like a lot of people took it as I don’t see my mom or my mother-in-law, which just isn’t true."
