Parade revealed the post came shortly after the Jane Goodall Institute confirmed that Goodall died of natural causes at age 91 while in California. Her stop in the state had been part of a larger speaking tour scheduled to continue through October. Even in her later years, Goodall kept her mission alive, inspiring audiences to care for animals and the environment. McCormick’s simple but poignant words reflected how those efforts touched not only scientists but also entertainers and everyday fans.

Maureen McCormick was far from alone in sharing her admiration. According to Time, many celebrities offered their own words following Goodall’s passing. Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Douglas, Jon Stewart, Jane Fonda, and even Prince Harry and Meghan Markle each posted a Jane Goodall tribute of their own. The outpouring reflected the universal respect she earned during her nearly six decades of conservation work.
