One of my all time favorite musicians, James Taylor, is celebrating his birthday today so I felt it only appropriate to pull out the old record player and play some of my favorite James Taylor tunes. Like myself, James Taylor has touched the hearts of so many. His melodic voice and influential songs have always helped me get through some of life's toughest obstacles. With lyrics that articulate real life situations and emotions, he has always made me feel like whatever I was going through, I wasn't alone. That I could call out his name and no matter where he was, he would be there... And he was there. https://youtu.be/3WJ1cf3nrLE "You've Got A Friend" When you're down and troubled And you need a helping hand And nothing, nothing is going right Close your eyes and think of me And soon I will be there To brighten up even your darkest night You just call out my name And you know wherever I am I'll come running, oh yeah baby, to see you again Winter, spring, summer or fall All you've got to do is call And I'll be there, ye, ye, ye You've got a friend If the sky above you Should turn dark and full of clouds And that old north wind should begin to blow Keep you head together And call my name out loud now Soon you'll hear me knocking at you door You just call out my name And you know wherever I am I'll come running, oh yes I will, to see you again Winter, spring, summer or fall, ye All you have to do is call And I'll be there, ye, ye, yeah Ain't it good to know that you've got a friend When people can be so cold They'll hurt you, and desert you And take your soul if you let them, oh yeah, don't you let 'em now You just call out my name And you know wherever I am I'll come running to see you again, oh baby, don't you know Winter, spring, summer or fall Hey now, all you have to do is call And I'll be there, yes I will You've got a friend You've got a friend, yeah Ain't it good to know you've got a friend Ain't it good to know you've got a friend Oh, ye yeah, you've got a friend I just want to stop, and thank you "Sweet Baby James" 'cause it's been so sweet to be loved by you... https://youtu.be/BacR9X5He6E?listPL0gxBcF2Ofh751UDswGdosr_TpqSepLiG "How Sweet It Is" How sweet it is to be loved by you How sweet it is to be loved by you I needed the shelter of someone's arms and there you were I needed someone to understand my ups and downs and there you were With sweet love and devotion Deeply touching my emotion I want to stop and thank you baby I wanna stop and thank you baby, yes I do How sweet it is to be loved by you, feels so fine How sweet it is to be loved by you I close my eyes at night Wondering where would I be without you in my life Everything I did was just a bore Everywhere I went it seems I'd been there before But you brighten up for me all of my days With a love so sweet in so many ways I wanna stop and thank you baby I just wanna stop and thank you baby, oh yes How sweet it is to be loved by you, it's just like sugar sometimes How sweet it is to be loved by you, oh yeah You were better to me than I was to myself For me, there's you and there ain't nobody else I wanna stop and thank you baby I just wanna stop and thank you baby, oh yes How sweet it is to be loved by you How sweet it is to be loved by you Oh now, how sweet it is to be loved by you It's like jelly baby, oh How sweet it is to be loved by you Just like honey to the bee, baby, yeah, now How sweet it is to be loved by you And, thank you for continuing to bring your beautiful music to the world. It's always great to see your smiling face! https://youtu.be/BL8NNTNmPT4 "Your Smiling Face" Whenever I see your smiling face, I have to smile myself because I love you, yes, I do. And when you give me that pretty little pout, it turns me inside out. There's something about you, baby, I don't know. Isn't it amazing a man like me can feel this way, tell me how much longer, it could grow stronger every day. Oh, how much longer? I thought I was in love a couple of times before with the girl next door, but that was long before I met you, now I'm sure that I won't forget you. And I thank my lucky stars that you are who you are, and not just another lovely lady set out to break my heart. Isn't it amazing a man like me can feel this way, tell me how much longer, it could grow stronger every day. No one can tell me that I'm doing wrong today, whenever I see you smile at me. No one can tell me that I'm doing wrong today whenever I see your smiling face my way. No one can tell me that I'm doing it wrong today. No one can tell me that I'm doing it wrong today.
