Mornings don’t have to start out with mayhem. This year, Bruce Willis stepped away from the spotlight after being diagnosed with aphasia and has been enjoying time with his family. That became especially clear in a new photo that shows Willis and his daughter Mabel sharing a morning snuggle that melts the heart.
Willis and 46-year-old Emma Heming Willis are parents to daughters Mabel Ray, 10, and Evelyn Penn, 8. With his ex, Demi Moore, Willis, 67, is also the father of Rumer, 33, Tallulah, 28, and Scout, 30. Though Willis has retired, his family has shared encouraging updates and voiced gratitude for the support the Die Hard star has been receiving from fans. See the latest sweet update here.
Emma shares a picture of Mabel and Willis enjoying a sweet snuggle
On Tuesday, Emma shared a photo to her Stories, so the image only stayed up for 24 hours. But it has been saved and shared for others to appreciate the cute scene of Willis and Mabel as the two snuggle. Indeed, the caption says it all, as it reads, “Morning daddy snuggles.” The black-and-white photo is at an angle that doesn’t quite show either family member’s face but it’s clear this was a great way to start the day. These two have often starred in Emma’s Instagram posts, to great – and cute – effect.

Emma’s social media page also promotes organizations she’s involved with. That includes her line of body care products, CocoBaba, and the nonprofit Room to Grow, which supports families during the early, most formative years of a child’s life.
Catching up with the Willis family
Willis and Mabel don’t just throw dance parties and snuggle; the family has been enjoying the outdoors on various occasions. Sometimes it’ll just be husband and wife going off the grid, and other times both daughters will be braving the heat to traverse Disney. There’s also been plenty of treks through nature. The consistent thread: enjoying family time after Willis’ retirement, after a career that began in 1978 and lasted for over four decades.
This is all in keeping with Willis’ own life motto, “Live it up,” which his family all assured, “together we plan to do just that” in their posts announcing his retirement. For those still hoping to see Willis on the big screen, he does have some films that were already completed set to release in the near future, such as Die Like Lovers, Detective Knight: Rogue, and Paradise City. Keep an eye out for these!
