“Monday, Monday” is a song written by John Phillips and recorded by the Mamas and the Papas in 1966.  Utilizing background instrumentals played by members of The Wrecking Crew (a session band who was played on many 1960s hits) The Mamas and the Papas cut the single for their 1966 record If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears. This was their only number-one hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
