Don Johnson may forever be Sonny Crockett to generations of Miami Vice fans, but these days one of his favorite roles appears to be much simpler: proud dad. The 76-year-old actor recently traded Hollywood sets for college life while visiting his youngest son, Deacon, at his fraternity house.
According to Parade, the sweet family moment showed a different side of the television icon. In a photo from the visit, Johnson sat beside his 20-year-old son on a couch while Deacon wrapped an arm around him. The playful caption joked about parents arriving at the frat house and needing to “hide the evidence.”

Deacon attends the University of Southern California, and Johnson looked perfectly comfortable joining him for the fraternity-house visit. Rather than a glamorous premiere or industry event, the outing captured the actor doing something many parents know well: showing up to see what life looks like for their child away at college.

The visit also offered fans another glimpse at Johnson’s large family. He has five children, including actress Dakota Johnson, whom he shares with former wife Melanie Griffith. His other children are Jesse, Atherton, Jasper, and Deacon. Johnson has made his devotion to them clear over the years, once sharing a family holiday photo with the message that his children are “my everything.”
