Bindi Irwin, the 26-year-old daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, was notably absent from the annual Steve Irwin Gala, dedicated to honoring her father’s life and legacy. The gala, a yearly event inaugurated in 2002, held both in Brisbane, Australia, and Las Vegas, brings together family, friends, and fans to celebrate his contributions to wildlife conservation.
Her brother, Robert, revealed that Bindi, who has consistently attended the event in previous years, was unable to attend because of a sudden health emergency.

Speaking in an interview with People during his attendance at the Las Vegas event, he disclosed that his sister had undergone an unexpected surgery. He explained that while the family had prepared for various challenges, especially given her recent recovery from endometriosis, they were pretty surprised by her ruptured appendix.
Robert stated that Bindi had been experiencing severe discomfort before the family arrived in Las Vegas, but was quite bravely determined to attend the gala. However, her surgeon, weighing the options, insisted on immediate surgery, stressing that her well-being was top priority.

The 21-year-old noted that even though Bindi’s absence at the event was deeply felt, he was glad that she decided to treat her health as very important, as she now advocates for women’s health. Bindi has been dedicating her efforts to raising awareness and encouraging others to prioritize their well-being.
Robert also shared that the 26-year-old, who has been a major part of the event since its inauguration, is deeply saddened by her inability to attend, even though she and her mother had been looking forward to it. He, however, expressed confidence in her recovery, emphasizing that she is strong and determined to overcome the health scare and return to her work as soon as possible.
