Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell are the proud parents of young Grace Warrior, the three of whom comprise a famous family of ecological advocates. While constantly promoting a life of education and outdoor exploration, Bindi has shared updates on Grace’s upbringing on social media. But when asked if she might have another baby, Bindi gave an emotional response that has left many fans heartbroken.
The older child of Crocodile Hunter legend Steve Irwin, Bindi married professional wakeboarder Chandler Powell in a private ceremony in March 2020, held at the Australia Zoo. They welcomed Grace into the world exactly a year later. However, traumatic health complications along the way quickly impacted what kind of family the young couple would build together.
Bindi Irwin gets emotional when asked if she and Chandler Powell will have another baby
Ever active on social media, Bindi and Chandler hosted a Q&A on the Australia Zoo’s official YouTube channel. There, they were asked about contending with grief—something Bindi and her younger brother, nature photographer Robert, are very familiar with after Steve died in 2006—along with what animals they hope to include at the zoo in the future.

The tone shifted once again to the somber when the couple was asked, “Are you two planning on having another child?” Husband and wife wear a smirk that’s laden with history when Bindi asks, “How often do we get asked that question?” To this, Chandler responded, “Daily.” Then, Bindi asks him to take the reins to answer the query, at least to start.
Health complications may have determined the family they will forge
Repetition has not dulled the effect of a question like that, and Bindi admitted she still has “a lot of feelings” whenever asked about having another baby. So, she asked Chandler to start their answer off before she really got into the thick of things.
“We get asked this question a lot,” said Chandler, “and a lot of you may already know Bindi went through a big journey with endometriosis and basically it was an absolute miracle that we had Grace and we love Grace so much and are reveling in every little moment with her.” He added, “We are so happy with our little family of three.”
From there, Bindi jumped in to elaborate. “I just do want to send it out there that be careful when you ask this question because you never know what’s happening in someone’s life,” stressed Bindi, “in a family’s world.”
She further opened up, “You know, everything may seem fine on the outside and on the inside, their own personal journey might’ve been filled with turmoil and challenges that you can’t even fathom. While I understand why a lot of people ask us this question and I appreciate the kindness and good intent behind it, it’s also a really tricky question for many, many people who maybe can’t have another baby, can’t have a baby at all.”
Then, Bindi definitively answered, “We feel very lucky to have Grace. She is our beautiful girl but she will probably be our one child.” However, she added, “you never know… maybe we will be blessed with another little one down the road. That would be incredible, but yeah, who knows.”
