Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa recently celebrated 29 years of marriage, and their celebration was anything but ordinary. Since their wedding in 1996, the couple has raised three children, Michael, Lola, and Joaquin, and continued building their careers side by side. From co-starring on All My Children to hosting their own morning show, their life together has played out both on screen and off.
Their anniversaries are usually a big deal, and this year followed the same pattern. Last year, they reflected on how long they’ve been married during a live show taping. This time, they took their celebration online, with each of them sharing glimpses of their journey so far.

On May 1, both of them posted personal tributes to each other. Mark shared a video slideshow with photos that showed different stages of their relationship. It featured old red carpet photos, quiet moments from date nights, and a look back at the Las Vegas chapel where they got married. He kept the caption short, adding a playful description of Kelly.
Kelly posted her own collection of pictures. Her post included photos from what looked like their honeymoon in Rome and Capri, followed by more recent snapshots from another Italian trip. The post had a mix of old and new, capturing how far they’ve come over the years and how they still enjoy traveling together.
Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa actually eloped
Their marriage started with a surprise. After dating for less than a year and briefly splitting, they got back together and decided to marry the next day. They flew to Las Vegas and picked a chapel from an old phone directory. The wedding was quick, affordable, and done without any guests.
The entire event, including their plane tickets, cost less than $200. Kelly once said that a big wedding would have been too much for them to handle, especially at that time. They’ve both agreed that keeping things simple helped them focus on what really mattered. Years later, they often return to the chapel just to remember how it all began.
