During the April 29 episode of Applegate’s MeSsy podcast, which she co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, the guest, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, discussed the grief of losing her parents several years ago. This revelation got the host very emotional.
During the conversation with Swisher, the 53-year-old, who could be heard making audible sniffles in the background, revealed that she had been carrying the weight of personal grief since her father’s passing just a week earlier. She admitted that this was the first time since the incident that she had truly allowed herself to cry, realizing she had avoided the emotional release by keeping herself occupied with other things. Reflecting on her delayed reaction, she questioned whether knowing her father’s death was imminent, having already said their goodbyes, served as the unconscious tool she used to suppress her emotions.
