Years after their passing, Jennie Garth still misses her late Beverly Hills, 90210 co-stars Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty. After spending ten years together on the hit teen drama from 1990 to 2000, Garth formed a lifelong bond with her co-stars, which made it even harder to lose them.
Doherty passed away in July 2024 at the age of 53 following a long battle with cancer, and Perry passed away in 2019 at the age of 52 after suffering a massive stroke. Both losses were devastating to the 90210 family, but to Garth, their absence does not always feel real.
Jennie Garth still can’t believe Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty are gone

Garth admits that even after a while, she still struggles believing that her long-time co-stars are gone. She explained that in her mind, Perry and Doherty are still alive and well, which means their passing is difficult to get around in her head. Her grieving has been particularly deep because, despite the ups and downs over the years, they were some of the closest friendships she had.
Following Doherty’s passing, Garth wrote a tribute, referring to her as one of the strongest people she had ever known. Although the two were portrayed as enemies by the press, Garth explained that they had mutual respect and admiration for each other. She remembered Doherty as stubbornly persistent, kind, and very generous.
Jennie Garth and the other ‘90210’ cast members are very close
Over the years, Garth and her Beverly Hills, 90210 co-stars have maintained a close relationship, one that extends beyond their time on screen. She recently spoke about how their friendship is impenetrable, especially after the passing of Doherty.
As they reunited at the ’90s Con in Connecticut, Garth reflected on the lifelong friendships they formed during their formative years in Hollywood. After sharing such impressionable years, she believes their friendship is like no other — one that time, arguments, or even death cannot end.
