A newly uploaded yearbook photo of Steve Buscemi from 1975 has left his fans stunned. The black-and-white snap was taken when he was just 18 years old, and Buscemi was completely different from the actor we see today. Though he looks much younger, you can still recognize his signature eyes and warm smile.
Now 67 years old, the Fargo actor has traveled far from his high school days at Brooklyn’s Valley Stream Central High School. This old photo is just one of the series of yearbook photos of celebrities that gives a glimpse of what several Hollywood big-shots used to look like.
Steve Buscemi’s yearbook photo was not the first time he was unrecognizable
The yearbook photo wasn’t the only time Buscemi looked unrecognizable. Another picture shared by the same account showed him as a young firefighter. From 1980 to 1984, Buscemi worked as a New York City firefighter, a job he took on before becoming a Hollywood actor.
In a dramatic turn of events, after the horrific 9/11 attacks, he went back to his old firehouse to help search for survivors. He labored 12 hours for days with his old crew members to search through the debris of the World Trade Center. This act of heroism and courage earned him even greater respect, demonstrating that his personality was as great as his performances.

Fans react to Steve Buscemi’s older photos
Fans were not hesitant to share their thoughts in the comment section. One of them asked if anyone knew Mr. Buscemi, and offered to restore his battered 1980s photo with their genuine appreciation. “Know he’s a Valley Stream guy,” they tipped.
A fan from Valley Stream in New York replied saying they worked with his cousin at JFK. “I heard stories about Steve. He’s more than a Sopranos actor—he’s one of NEW YORK’S BRAVEST! Thanks for your service. I’m in awe of you and what you did for our dear NY on 9/11!” they gushed.
