Goldie Hawn recently attended a performance of Death Becomes Her, the new Broadway stage production of the 1992 movie in which she appeared. Joining her family, the Oscar-winning actress attended the show on Friday, February 21, welcoming the opportunity to see the stage version of the cult favorite she helped to create.
The musical began in November 2024 and has been the jewel of the 2024-2025 Broadway season while being nominated for Best New Musical. Death Becomes Her has made waves since it opened with performances on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Goldie Hawn had great things to say to the ‘Death Becomes Her’ cast and crew
Hawn enjoyed herself throughout the performance, even before the final curtain call. Her infectious laughter resounded throughout the theater, and she was also one of the first to clap after each musical number. She afterward proceeded backstage to greet the cast and creative team.
Hawn applauded the actors, director Christopher Gattelli, and composers of the musical, Julia Mattison and Noel Carey. According to reports, they discussed the adaptation process, show themes, and artistic choices involved in bringing the movie onto the stage. She was also impressed with the set, costume, and magic illusions that produced an additional theater effect.
Goldie Hawn’s co-star Isabella Rossellini was also seen at the musical
Hawn isn’t the only original Death Becomes Her star who has shown support for the Broadway adaptation. Back in January, Isabella Rossellini attended a performance and later posed for photos with Michelle Williams, who plays Viola Van Horn, a role inspired by Rossellini’s Lisle Von Rhuman from the film.
Rossellini is also linked to the musical as more than just a visitor. She secretly makes an unannounced cameo in all performances, as she provides the pre-show announcement inviting the audience into the theater and asking them to turn off their phones.
