The family that acts together… may or may not stay together, actually. But with Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, and their famous family of movie stars, it’s a pretty safe bet. Proud mother of three Hawn wants to do one big film project with the whole gang—and she wants to do so before time runs out.
78-year-old Hawn is the mother of Oliver and Kate Hudson, as well as Wyatt Russell, who she shares with fellow actor Kurt Russell. The whole quintet is active in the entertainment industry, with Wyatt and Kurt already appearing in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters as the same character at different ages. But Hawn is dreaming of a project that everyone can get involved in.
Goldie Hawn wants to do a movie with the whole family
Hawn recently sat down for a chat on SiriusXM’s Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa. There, Ripa proposed some familial, holiday-themed plotlines that might make a good group project for Hawn and her family. Her initial proposal was a Thanksgiving-themed reality show featuring Hawn’s kids. This inspired Hawn to share one of her biggest dreams.

“What I would love, actually, before we all get, you know, too old, [it] would be so great to do a movie together,” Hawn gushed, adding, “Wouldn’t it? It would be so fun and so crazy and oh my God.”
In terms of logistics, Hawn acknowledged, “It’s all about a writer. … I have to get permission first from my family.”
Possible ways this family project could go
Ripa had some ideas up her sleeve. “Here’s how it goes: You tell them you’re having a party for Kurt,” she proposed. “What they don’t realize is it’s a party scene for the opening of the movie, so they just all arrive and then after the first scene is shot, surprise, surprise.”
From there, she urged, “You pitch the idea for the movie and you’ve already got the opening scene in the can. They can’t argue with it. The establishing scene has happened.”
“Oh my god,” Hawn exclaimed in response, “It’s really true though. It’s a mess. It would be a mess.” The wait may not require a secret party episode, however, as Hawn did tease a movie she and her family were working on together already. She shared, “We might do something with Oliver that is a cartoon, so in other words, we would all be the voices of that. That would be a lot of fun.”
