Will Reeve chose to honor his late father, Christopher Reeve, in a personal way, and the new ABC primetime special, Will Reeve: Finding My Father, shows what the 32-year-old got up to. He retraced the steps of Christopher’s final adventure before the tragic horseback-riding accident that left him paralyzed.
Christopher was not only an iconic actor but also a passionate adventure lover, as he had been tracking the migration of Pacific gray whales from Mexico to an island near Siberia. Will hoped to reconnect with his father by going to the places he explored.

As Will set out to find new depth to his father’s life and legacy, he had an ABC correspondent with him in order to share his discoveries with audiences worldwide. Although Will was only two years old when Christopher was paralyzed, and 12 when he died, he always admired Christopher.
It was cool having your dad play Superman, but beyond the fame, Christopher was a loving father. This explains why Will is committed to searching for an emotional connection to the late legend.

In the documentary, Will can be seen talking to the sons of the men who guided Christopher on his expedition. They shared memories and took pictures to keep Christopher’s journey and the full-circle encounter alive. One of the locals even approached Will with a 30-year-old picture of his dad.
Will also believes Christopher left him something to discover, which is part of what motivates him on this journey. Throughout the film, Will takes every chance to express deep admiration for his father’s adventurous spirit. ABC will show Will Reeve: Finding My Father on February 26, followed by Hulu the next day.
