Jim Carrey’s Resurfaced ‘Jimmy Kimmel’ Appearance Startles Fans With Hollywood’s ‘Darkest Secret’

Jim Carrey shook things up during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2014, dropping what many called Hollywood’s “darkest secret.” Carrey left the audience in disbelief while promoting Dumb and Dumber To, but not because he said anything funny.

The discussion went beyond entertainment and movies, as he opened up a conversation about the hidden side of Hollywood. Many fans applauded Carrey for calling out what they saw as the real issues in Hollywood.

What happened during Jim Carrey’s interview?

Carrey kicked off his interview with a strange gesture as he made a triangle around his mouth with his hands and stuck his tongue out. Show host Jimmy Kimmel seemed confused, but Carrey quickly explained that it was a reference to the Illuminati, a secret society many believe exists. With his usual humor, Carrey claimed that many TV personalities, including talk show hosts, were hired by the government to distract the public from what’s really happening in the world.

He also joked about secret meetings where powerful people gather to make important decisions while being naked in the woods. Though Kimmel played along, some viewers could not help but wonder if there was more truth behind Carrey’s bold words than a simple joke.

More Jim Carrey controversies

Carrey has had other controversial moments making headlines like when he turned to painting as a way to express himself. His artwork took a political turn in 2018 as he started creating portraits of figures like Donald Trump and Sarah Huckabee Sanders, which sparked mixed reactions. Carrey also made waves with his role in Kick-Ass 2.

After the tragic Sandy Hook shooting, he refused to promote the film, saying he could no longer support its level of violence. On top of that, Carrey’s outspoken views on vaccinations brought him even more criticism, especially after he campaigned against vaccines alongside then-girlfriend Jenny McCarthy, despite overwhelming evidence supporting that they were safe to get.
