Joan Jett delivered an electrifying performance of the Mary Tyler Moore theme song, “Love Is All Around,” alongside her Blackhearts bandmates in 1996. A two-and-a-half-minute video of the rendition made it to YouTube 17 years later, and fans still go back to binge until today.
Joan, who has been arguably named the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, began her career at 16 with her first group, The Runaways. She then pursued a successful solo career before forming the Blackhearts in the ‘70s.

I freakin Love Joan Jett!! Fugg an A… She rocked it, man. RIP Mary Tyler Moore, God bless,” another gushed.

Aside from music, Joan is an animal rights advocate and has campaigned for organizations like the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA.) She has also been supportive of women in sports, and her cover of “Love Is All Around” was used to promote a women’s only match by the NCAA. There have been rumors that she is lesbian or bisexual; however, she has yet to address her sexual orientation explicitly.
