It’s not another timeline – Scott Bakula has made a rare red-carpet appearance accompanied by his wife of 15 years, Chelsea Field. Bakula, an icon of the sci-fi television scene, has been active in the industry since the ’70s, but red-carpet events such as these with families are a bit rarer in number.
Although Bakula and Field have been married since 2009, their love story actually stretches much farther back; the two had a 15-year relationship before finally tying the knot. Field is Bakula’s second wife, after he divorced Krista Neumann, with whom he shares two children, in 1981. Here’s the latest on the Quantum Leap icon.

Bakula, known to fans as Sam Beckett on Quantum Leap and Captain Jonathan Archer on Star Trek: Enterprise, proved himself to be aging like wine, as he’s gone fully gray but still with great power behind that intense look.
Boldly going on
More recently, Bakula became a mainstay on NCIS: New Orleans, portraying Special Agent Dwayne Cassius “King” Pride from 2014 to 2021. But since launching his career in ’77, Bakula has kept busy both on film and – especially – on the small screen. He can be seen in over a dozen episodes of Murphy Brown, enjoyed a main role in Men of a Certain Age, appeared as a special guest in NCIS before heading to New Orleans, and even appeared in a 2021 episode of What We Do in the Shadows as himself.
Most recently, Bakula appeared in the 2023 film Divinity, as well as the 2022 television film Unbroken. On top of that, he is also active on stage, making an appearance in Guys and Dolls at the Hollywood Bowl back in 2009; he also played Joe DiMaggio in Marilyn. Most recently, Bakula is listed as part of The Connector.
This busy career has also seen him bestowed with several awards and nominations. Bakula has been nominated for a Drama Desk Award, a People’s Choice Award, a Tony Award, and several Primetime Emmy Awards. In 1991, he won a Golden Globe Award for Quantum Leap.
