TikToker Dani shared some good news with her followers who may have a stash of Blu-ray DVDs in their house somewhere. She said they could be “worth thousands of dollars to help you pay off your student loans.” Dani also shared specific sets to look out for and how much they could sell for.
The creator admitted that she thrifts her box sets, meaning she buys them cheap and resells them at collector’s rates. Dani’s fans were grateful for the information, including one who found it “cool!” but joked about “not paying student loans back tho.” “Thank you for posting the actual sold prices and not just what people are asking for,” another comment reads.

Dani asked viewers to prioritize some box sets like Disney’s Legacy animated film collection, which is “dominating the top 10 sold DVD/Blu-ray box sets on eBay” and has over a hundred movies. When new, this sells for about $2,000, and Dani also proved that they were in demand via her screenshots. She also estimated a market price between $1,000 and $1,500.

Another good choice is the Marvel Cinematic Steelbook Collection, which is more of a 32-part set than the typical DVD stash. “Whenever I see a Marvel Steelbook, and it’s reasonably priced, I always pick it up to resell because they sell well. It’s kind of like a fun treasure hunt to try and find and complete this collection,” she shared.
According to Dani, the Dark Night trilogy in 4K Blu-ray Mother Box set has a resale value of about $500 to $750 if used and is currently selling on eBay for $1,300. Next on her list was the Fight Club Mantra Lab Blu-ray collection from Australia. “Seem to be doing really, really well,” she quipped.
New ones cost between $1,500 and $2,000, while pre-owned ones go for about $1,000. She noted that collectors seem to go for the Fight Club Mantra Lab stash in pink color. She ended her informative video by noting that she helps people find valuable items in their closets. Who knew one could make much money from old DVDs?
