Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Smith have been partners through thick and thin since tying the knot in 2001. Over two decades later, they are still each other’s biggest cheerleaders. So, when online trolls tried to body shame Keely, Brosnan was quick to put them in their place and share words of affection for his wife.
Brosnan and Keely met back in ’94 at a party in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The couple shares two sons together: Dylan Thomas, born in ’97, and Paris Beckett, born in 2001. In recent years, photo posts showed pictures of Brosnan and Keely across their relationship timeline; on posts like these, some social media users observed the difference in their appearances between then and now, prompting Brosnan to condemn the comments.

Perhaps the most infamous example of body shaming against Keely occurred when reality TV personality Jenelle Evans shared side-by-side photos of Brosnan and Keely in the early years of their relationship and a more up-to-date snap.

The Teen Mom star and her husband, David Eason, exchanged comments about the couple’s appearance. “David Eason and this is us,” Evans said in the captions.
Eason replied, “We do not look that fat.” To this, Evans shot back that they were “close to it.” The conversation sparked strong reactions from their followers and the post has since been deleted.

Any attempt at criticizing in a hurtful way was bound to fall on deaf ears; Keely has long made it clear that she is proud of who she is and what she looks like. “I never shy away from … my curves. I never hide in baggy clothing,” she told Vogue in 2006.
She’s backed entirely by Brosnan. “Friends offered her surgery to reduce her weight,” Brosnan fired back, even after the post was deleted. “But I strongly love every curve of her body. She is the most beautiful woman in my eyes. And also because she had our five children.”
