The sudden death of The Ellen DeGeneres Show DJ and co-host Stephen “tWitch” Boss left family members, friends, and colleagues heartbroken. Boss leaves behind wife Allison Holker, and three children; two he had with Holker and Boss adopted her daughter from a previous relationship.
The couple had plans to grow their family beyond three kids and were reportedly starting to try for more children before Boss died by suicide at the age of 40. As recently as November 2022, the couple discussed in an interview their desire to have another child together.

Boss and Holker discussed their plans for the future this autumn on The Jennifer Hudson Show. They’re parents to Weslie Renae, 14, Maddox Laurel, 6, and Zaia, 3. Their roles as parents were just one of the things celebrated in tributes to Boss. “I think we’d love to start trying for another one,” Holker revealed. “We really do [miss it]. I love the little babies. I love ’em.” Weslie is Holker’s child from an ex-fiancé.

These two were no strangers to balancing a busy work life with loving family life. They actually met on So You Think You Can Dance back in 2010. Three years later, they tied the knot. In a way, this helped prepare them for parenthood on a bigger scale. “People always talk about how it takes a village for hair and makeup and styling — it’s the same thing with having kids,” Holker explained. “We have hands on deck all the time willing to help and jump on board.”

According to an Instagram made by Holker, it had just been her and Boss’s ninth wedding anniversary this month. The accompanying post shows photos of the couple on their wedding day. Dancing continued to be a unifying point throughout this post and much of their respective social media pages. In fact, concluding her tribute to Boss after his death, Holker vowed, “I will always save the last dance for you.”
Ellen DeGeneres also spoke about Boss after his death. “tWitch was pure love and light,” she said of the famous DJ, dancer, and TV personality. “He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”
