2022 started off on a historic note for Amy Schneider, who set new records in Jeopardy! for her financial wins as a contestant, as a woman, and as the first openly transgender champion to reach such heights. But the year wasn’t done with its wonders yet, as Schneider had another very special occasion: a wedding.
It was in mid-spring that Schneider tied the knot with her fiancée, Genevieve Davis. The ceremony had been intimate and kept relatively quiet. Recently, Schneider shared photos from the occasion, effectively announcing the secret wedding and providing an up-close look at the joyous event in one go.

A year ago today, I was in LA, waiting to fulfill a dream. The year since has been full of good days, but by far the best one was May 9th, when Genevieve and I got married. Without her, none of the other good days would have happened. I’m so lucky to share my life with her!👰♀️❤️👰♀️ pic.twitter.com/6zG1OpbBZV

Autumn is chilling the air now but the day was bright and hearts were warm one particular day in early May. “A year ago today, I was in LA, waiting to fulfill a dream,” Schneider reflected in her post, referring to her big decision to drop her job as an engineering manager; since then, she’s taken on the title of Jeopardy! champion set to compete in the Tournament of Champions against the likes of Matt Amodio and Mattea Roach, thanks to her own 40-game winning streak and $1,382,800 earnings.

Her post continues, “The year since has been full of good days, but by far the best one was May 9th, when Genevieve and I got married. Without her, none of the other good days would have happened. I’m so lucky to share my life with her.” It is followed by pictures of the happy couple bedecked in flower crowns and elegant white gowns, smiling the whole time, even behind masks for COVID-19 safety.
The love story of Schneider and Davis
Schneider announced their engagement back in February with a post of the two showing off their rings. “I have an announcement: Genevieve is no longer my girlfriend… she’s my fiancée,” Schneider announced to her 139k Twitter followers. “I couldn’t be happier or more proud to spend my life with the very best person in the entire world.”
This isn’t it for them. The ceremony was small out of necessity, to cross this big milestone nominally until time was more kind. This one took place at the Alameda County Recorder, located in Northern California, where Schneider has called home for years. “We will be having a traditional wedding & reception next summer, but our lives have been much too busy this year to get very far in planning it, and we couldn’t wait that long to proclaim our love and commitment to each other,” she explained. We can’t wait to see what comes next for them both!
