Keith Urban is celebrating his wife, Nicole Kidman‘s Oscar nomination with a special throwback photo. After the news broke that Nicole is nominated for an Oscar for her role as Lucille Ball in Being the Ricardos, Keith shared a FaceTime screenshot. In the photo, Nicole was all dressed up as Lucille, clearly taking a break from filming the movie.
Alongside the photo, he wrote, “CONGRATS on your OSCAR nomination today babygirl! SO proud of you & all that you poured into this dual role. Lucille AND Lucy. We REALLY lived through it with you on this one, & you gave it EVERYTHING. Here’s me FaceTiming you on set back in April 2021. Loving you always.”

While many fans were unsure about Nicole being cast to play the iconic Lucille, it must have paid off if she has been nominated for an Oscar. Whether or not fans still believe that Nicole should have played Lucille, critics are loving her in the role. Nicole and others have clarified that she is mostly playing Lucille and not her character Lucy in the film.

During the filming of Being the Ricardos, Keith has supported her all the way, even giving her some constructive criticism! When she was working on her voice to sound more like Lucille’s, Keith said that at first, it was “scary.” However, she worked it out.
