Things you remember if you grew up in the 1970s

Watching ‘Schoolhouse Rock’

Lucky for kids now, Schoolhouse Rock is coming to Disney+! There was nothing better than listening to the songs and watching the cartoons that actually taught you something. Who can forget “Conjunction Junction” or “I’m Just A Bill?”

Playing music with an 8-track player

Before cassettes, many cars had 8-track players. They were pretty tough to use. Do you remember driving around listening to music on your 8-track player? What did you listen to most?

Wearing tube socks and bell bottoms

Some of the most popular fashion items were tube socks and bell bottoms. How many did you own?

The TV went off at night

If you couldn’t sleep, there was no TV to help you out. Television stations generally went off the air around 1 or 2 a.m. in the ’70s. Some would play “The Star-Spangled Banner” before going off the air for the evening.
