When you think of Dolly Parton, you probably don’t think about a dance hit. However, the 73-year-old recently released a new song called “Faith” and it really gets you moving! Dolly is generally known for her country, pop, and Christmas albums. “Faith” is really a change of pace, but it is fantastic.

Dolly has also released a new music video for the song. She filmed it in Tennessee. The artists Galantis and Mr. Probz also collaborate on the song, which is definitely a new sound for Dolly. However, in the music video, you can see that she is really having a good time. She still has the moves!

In the music video, Dolly plays a bus driver (with impeccable fashion, of course). The bus breaks down and she exclaims, “You gotta have a little faith!” At first, the patrons on the bus look annoyed, but soon enough they break out in dance.

If the song sounds a bit familiar, you are right. It is actually a reworking on the 1987 song “Have a Little Faith in Me,” by John Hiatt. The pair that makes up the group Galantis have been long-time fans of Dolly and have been trying to track her down for a while. When they had the concept for “Faith,” they knew she was the right person to add something to the track!

Dolly said it is an uplifting song

According to Rolling Stone, Dolly said she was on board right away. She said, “As soon as I heard it, I thought, ‘Yes! This is a song that the world needs right now.’ It’s all about uplifting mankind and believing in a higher power. All the things we need in this dark, ol’ dreary world right now.”

Now, Dolly said she is open to making more dance songs like this one. She continued, “I always know inside myself what’s right and what’s wrong to do, and this felt really right. I’m open to doing more with them and continue with this — if this does well.” It seems that it has been doing pretty well!
