The responses to the SAG nominations 2025 will also hint at how the Oscar awards will play out, as it shows what movies the voters favor over others. A fitting instance is the past year’s movies — Oppenheimer, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and CODA — getting recognized by the SAG awards and then their actors going on to win Oscars for best movie. Wicked is also enjoying positive attention from voters for the SAG awards; however, the nomination went to Jonathan Bailey instead of lead actresses Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. Even Angelina Jolie got snubbed for Maria, making fans wonder if the SAG Awards 2,500 are so tasking to please. “I can’t remember the last time a performance that was perceived as a sure thing for a nom after it premiered crashed and burned to this extent with awards,” someone complained.
