Jennifer Coolidge’s Hollywood career took off with a big break in 1999 thanks to her role as Jeanine Stifler in American Pie. However, it was not until recently that fans realized her known voice had been fake the whole time.
The 63-year-old is known for her sultry, airy talking in movies, which comedian Matthew Friend tried to mimic at the recently concluded Golden Globe Awards ceremony. In her natural voice, Jennifer commended Friend, saying his impression is just as good as Ariana Grande’s on Saturday Night Live.

The clip of Jennifer speaking in her true tone made it to social media, and fans feel scammed to have believed she was a soft-spoken diva in real life. They took to the comments, expressing mixed reactions ranging from shock to amusement about their latest discovery.
Some were impressed by the fact that she maintained a fake voice in her movies for nearly three decades. “Right?’ American Pie’ franchise, ‘Legally Blonde’ franchise, and the ‘Two Broke Girls’ series, and she kept the same voice. Literally did not know it wasn’t her voice,” a TikTok user wrote, while another added that they feel “bamboozled, hoodwinked and led astray” for the persona she portrayed.
