This February marked one year since former president Jimmy Carter entered hospice care. His family members who have closely monitored his situation believe that Carter is coming to the end of his life as he enters a part of "this faith journey" that can only be experienced at the very end. Born in 1924, 99-year-old Carter is the oldest living president in U.S. history, after George H.W. Bush died at the age of 94 in 2018. He was predeceased by his wife Rosalynn Carter, who passed away in November 2023 at the age of 96. They had four children together, and grandson Jason Carter has kept the world up to date on the former president's health.
